Family Services
All of our staff are trained to involve family members and other supportive individuals in the treatment and recovery process whenever appropriate. Research consistently shows that when family members become educated about addiction and recovery, treatment outcomes improve for their loved one. Because substance use disorders affect the entire family and support system, we offer a weekly Family Workshop for family members, close friends, employers, and other supportive individuals.
The Family Workshop provides education about substance use disorders, recovery, and the impact addiction has on families. Participants learn healthy coping strategies, effective communication skills, appropriate boundary setting, and ways to support their loved one while avoiding enabling behaviors. The workshop is facilitated by an individual with lived experience as a family member of someone affected by addiction, providing valuable peer-to-peer support, encouragement, and understanding.
The Family Workshop meets every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. and is offered free of charge to anyone who has a loved one struggling with a substance use disorder. Whether your loved one is currently in treatment or not, you are welcome to attend and receive the education and support you deserve.
